The protein and fat content is clearly limited and has been adapted to the needs of these dogs. A high proportion of crude fibre ensures a constant or decreasing body weight with adequate satiety when the appropriate amount of food is given. The protein compound L-carnitine, which also occurs naturally in meat, provides additional support for fat burning.
